[TIP 95] - Getting Organized With Layers

The Dundas BI Layers panel is your one-stop-shop for seeing and accessing all the objects (i.e. visualizations and components) you’ve placed on your dashboard.

Layers are often used to organize the objects within different layers that can be made visible or hidden using easy to setup interactions. For example, on a click of a button, you may want to hide some objects and show others (think about a tab menu concept or a help overlay).

But layers can also be used for quickly styling and finding elements within your dashboard. Once your dashboard becomes busy with many different objects, finding those objects from the layer panel can be done either by hovering over the objects and seeing those highlighted, or by double clicking them and having the dashboard focus on it.

In addition, You can also rename, hide/show, and move items between layers directly from the layers panel. Here is a quick example:
