[TIP 93] - Use Visual Filters to Focus on the Data You Need

Using standard filter controls such as drop-downs or date filters allow you to be very selective of the data you keep, and even allow you to search for specific elements to filter by.

However, sometimes the quickest way to filter your data is to do so visually!

Simply select the data point on your visual, and directly from the context menu, choose to filter by what’s most appropriate for you: either Keep Only Selected if the selected points are the ones you want to see, or Exclude Selected if the selected points are outliers you want to filter from your chart.

You can also clear your selection and go back to your original chart prior to the visual filtering.
