[TIP 92] - Zoom In-and-Out to Better See the Big (and Small) Picture

When your visualizations include a lot of data points (i.e., you have a dense line chart showing data over time), it’s sometimes hard to see the details at certain areas of the chart. In those situations, the users may see the overall trend and outliers, but may have a hard time seeing which data point is the exact outlier.

Sure you can always try and use tooltips, but another option for you would be to simply select the data points in question and zoom into those. The zoom in can be done multiple times and is available from the context menu or from the metric set toolbar. After each zoom in, you will also have the option to trace back your steps with the zoom out option that will appear once you zoom in.

Now you can quickly narrow into the exact details you need to see!
