[TIP 43] Disabling the "Loading Overlay" for visuals that are set to auto-refresh

When creating a dashboard designed for a large screen display (i.e. mounted on your office wall), or just for constant monitoring (i.e. call center view), it is quite common to use the data auto refresh interval option to ensure the visuals are always updating without forcing the user to trigger a refresh on the entire page.

When doing so, one can ensure a smooth experience to the dashboard viewers by hiding the loading overlay of the visual that can become a distraction if the visuals are often updating. Hiding this loading overlay can also be handy if your dashboard contains many visualizations including very small visuals such as data labels or state indicators where you may want to prevent too many visuals showing the overlay at once.

Here is a nice example of how this can look like for the user (hiding the loading overlay upon new data retrieval).

To hide the loading overlay, simply check the property under the visualization "Main" properties tab.
