Do you have multiple filters on your dashboard, but you don’t know what selections are valid? No one wants to see a dashboard that doesn’t show any data… but what if you only have certain valid values?
What if you have a Country and a City filter? Does it make sense to show all cities in the world after you’ve selected Canada as a country?
Well! Dependent filters allow you to have filters filter other filters (wow, that’s a mouthful). In the case above, if you select Canada, you will then only see cities in Canada. Here are some images of another example:
