Reuse state across measures

I have one status indicator with a measure on a state.

What is the easiest way to copy that state indicator, change it to show a different measure but retain the state?

So indicator 1 shows Q1 and has red/yellow/green threshold states. I need to make indicators for Q2 - Q24 that are exactly the same but don't want to have to re-create the states each time.

Thanks

Saving states is possible using styles but those would require the same measure (as usually the conditions are specific to the measure). In your case it sounds like you are defining states to different measures so saving and applying styles won't help (unless you are using the same measure and just definining a filter to the right quarter).

If indeed these are different measures, you can consider using dynamic measures (if you can structure your data that way) and then just copy paste your state indicator visualization and change the dynamic measure to point to the needed quarter. Note that if your metric set only contains the dynamic measure it won't show any data so you may need to add another measure to the metric set but not show it in your state indicator.

We have also added this ability as a feature request - since it is possible the dynamic measures will not suit your data sturcture.

Option to save “States” properties

I think I have asked for this before.

SO Up vote!!!

Maybe I sent in email but it has been asked for on here before By David G.

I just know that I have made several Metric Sets that all use the same (set of) States that each one had 3 or 5 States not all of them the same kind of Vis so using save Style would not have worked.

Also had lost of custom colors (you know not named ones like “Red, White, Pink”).

Note - I’ve moved both yours and @james.davis post to this existing topic, as this had been requested in the past

Thanks!!
