Relevant filter values

Hi, Dundas friends! Does anyone know if there’s a way (I’m sure there must be one, just haven’t found it yet) to show only values in filters that are relevant to the dataset? For example, I show salesperson totals from 2018 to 2020 and that displays a saleperson filter containing 30 people. When I change the date filter to show only 2020 though, the salesperson filter now shows only people that have a sale in 2020 - not the 30 salespeople that had a sale in 2018 or 2019.

I’m guessing I need to write a script for something like that?

Thanks! Stay safe!

Hi @ryan.johnson,

It seems to me that you are looking for a feature called "Dependent Filters’. Here’s the documentation.

OMG!!! Jeff, I love you!! I never thought to look for “dependent” in my searches. Thank you so much!

Anytime Ryan. It’s not the easiest thing to find in the documentation to be fair.

This looks like what I want, but it’s not coming up as an option for the date filter. I need to make around a dozen other filters dependent on the date because a lot of options have changed over time. Is there a different way to set it up for date filters?

Figured out the issue! Can only set dependent filters on calendar range filters, not range date filters. Was able to switch the filter type.
