Can users in read only mode have an interactive way to drag and drop dimensions of their choosing, similar to how you would create a pivot table in excel?
Read Only Interactive Tables
Yes - power users can drag and drop dimensions of their choosing (from an existing data cube or even a data connector). The best interface to do so is usually on the metric set designer as there is no concept of edit/view on that designer meaning that effectively it's always in view mode (unlike the dashboard designer where the focus is on layout and design and less on analytics and hence why you have the edit/view mode). If you want the user to start the analysis from an existing dashboard created by another user, a quick way to get there is to use the "edit copy for analysis" option to create a copy of an existing view within the user "My project" and then edit the visuals dimensions/measurers selection on the dashboard via the data analysis panel or open the data tools menu and choose the "edit in full screen" which will open the visualization in the metric set designer, where they can easily use the drag and drop interface. This method will no overwrite the original dashboard created for many users but will still allow analyzing the data without having to start from scratch. Note that standard users are not able to create/modify metric sets as they are usually consuming existing metrics (typically within a defined user experience). In some case, you may want to expose the ability to switch a measure/dimension on a visualization for a standard user as well and that can be done using dynamic elements where a drop down can be used to switch a measure or a dimension on the visual. A good demo of these options for the different users is available under the following webinar. You can start at minute 36 and watch just the demo portion where we showcase these options.
