Legend in Small Multiple

I have created a small multiple that I am displaying within a container on another dashboard. I am trying to figure out how to show a legend for the small multiple but have some control over placement. I only want the legend to show one time. If I create the dashboard in the small multiple canvas, the only place I can figure out to have it not repeat per multiple or row/column is if I place it in one of the corners. However, that makes the whole visual look strange. In the dashboard, I can’t seem to connect a legend to the small multiple at all. Does anyone have tips on how to add a legend that just goes at the top or to the side of their small multiple? I’m using v. 6.0.1.1002 and first time working with a small multiple.

That would be in the header/footer/corner. Have you tried headers?

See point 6 on https://www.dundas.com/Support/learning/documentation/create-view-content/creating-small-multiples

Another idea would be to create your own legend on the dashboard, separate from the embedded small multiple. This could be either using rectangles and labels, or by connecting it to another - hidden - chart on the dashboard.

Thanks for the response David. Is there a way to do a header that appears once per visualization? From what I can tell, the headers appear once per row or column, which is too much for a legend, or I can put it in a corner, which takes a lot of space and looks terrible.
I’ll do the manual workaround, I was just trying to find a better way.
