How to add to a user project

I have some users that use the ‘My project’ to create and view their metric sets.

It often happens that they don’t have the time/knowledge to create a specific metric set and so ask me to do it for them ‘and pop it into their project’ so they can view it.

Short of logging in as them (which I don’t want to do for various reasons), how can I do this?

Thanks

Hi David. If you log on as an admin, you can edit the Account for that user, and near the bottom of the dialog, there is a button the view the user’s project. From there you should be able to directly create a metric set.

Thanks Rob.

And how can I copy something into it?

Unfortunately, there’s no way to do this from the UI. You could however use the REST API, or create a dashboard which does it through a script via the JS API.

Can I put in a feature request for admins to be able to work with user’s 'my project’s in the same way as other projects? e.g. them appearing in the ‘projects’ and ‘file explorer’ sections somehow.

It seems to be very complicated and confusing to be able to move items in and out of user projects and this is something that I keep running into.

Thanks

I have a feeling I will need this once I start letting users have more access to Dundas than just view a Dashboard via SharePoint (no user controls).

I up vote this request.

Hi Guys, i created a feature request on your behalf for this. #79162

cheers!
