How do I create a Token Script that produces UK academic years?

I need a custom token that creates the following date ranges;

1st August 2017 - 31st July 2018

How do I do this and do I need to create the correct Time Hierarchy first?

Thanks in advance.

Jack

It should be as simple as setting those dates and then in the drop down token picker you should be able to save that filter as a token. unless you have that option disabled, if you do enable it to make the token the disable it again. assuming you are on version that has these features.

Hi Jack,

When you’re building the token, be mindful of the data type you plan to use.

You will either want to use ‘Date’ for non-hierarchy data types or ‘Time Hierarchy’. Depending on your setup, you might even need to create both.

I recently created a video that will talk about how to create custom tokens, in general, but i’m afraid it will not solve your exact use case. Regardless, you might get some value out of it.

good point Jeff, I didnt even think about a date not being a hierarchy as I always apply a hierarchy to all the dates.
