Hey, all! So, we’re just about ready to begin making some dashboards in our new DundasBI tool. We have several templates made so everything looks nice and uniform. We decided we want to have four common nav buttons/icons on our templates, but I really can’t add put them on the templates because they’ll be navigating to different places depending on what’s on the dashboard and once we’re building the actual dashboard, you can’t modify the template layer. I think what I should do is create a default dashboard with the nav buttons on it that I can put onto a blank layer each time I create a new dashboard. Does that sound right? I’ve been trying this, but not having a lot of success. Anyone have/had a similar challenge and if so, how did you approach it?
Thanks!

Default Navigation Layer?
I know you can unlock the template when you start using it to make a new dashboard.
or you can just not put the nav buttons in the template and just add them each time you make a new dashboard.
the template is mostly for lay out not for anything that you interact with or even labels used as a Titles. you can have the place for the label the title but if you put the label in the template you then have to unlock the template on the new dashboard to set it.
Hopefully Dundas will come up with a better way to have a template that can have labels and buttons that are there but not locked down so you can change them with out unlocking the template.
Thanks, James! Putting the icons on the template layer and unlocking them sounds like the way to go, but try as I might, I can’t seem to unlock that layer when building a new dashboard. Am I missing something?
I did use the wrong term it is called detach. So unlock would not do it. sorry about the miss direct there.

Hey! That might do the trick. Thanks so much, James!
