Dashboard changes not saved when checked in

Hi,

I have 2 dashboards with many data visualizations. We do previous month, ie.Dec 2017 and last year previous month ,i.e.Dec 2016 as well as Year-to-Date, i.e. Jan 1, 2017 to Dec 31, 2017 and Last-Year-To-Date, i.e. Jan 1 ,2016 to Dec 31, 2016. I used advanced/offset features to get these date ranges.

When we crossed over to 2018, I had to change my offsets. I do know that I can create custom tokens to do that, but that is not my problem right now.

The problem is that I changed some of these offsets and then checked in my dashboard as I was going along (my DBI version of save frequently). When I got the last 2 changes I needed to make checking it in did not save those changes not matter how many times I tried or waited.

I also had a on load script which populated a text box with the previous month, which now should be December 2017. I tried changing that script, even deleting it altogether, but no matter what I do it remains as October 2017 - which makes no sense at all.

So far I have tried recycling the application pool, also making a copy of the dashboard - save as - and editing. Nothing is working and I cannot save the changes.

I have a support ticket in but no help as of yet. Has anyone else had this problem?

What else can I do? Please advise.

Thanks

Did you try CTRL+F5 to hard refresh the page, restart your browser, restart your computer? Try from a different machine?

I sometimes find that when I have been using it for a while, there are changes that aren't made but my computer/browser thinks that they are there or sometimes the opposite. It can be very difficult to get to the bottom of these things because it is very persistent.

Can't suggest more, only sympathise...

I followed up with Support about this and wanted to give an update for everyone. The situation Sandi was facing is that a Default Value set on the Metric Set was overriding the Default Value set on the dashboard. This was resolved by changing the value on the Metric Set.

Thanks Elia! I was going to post about that resolution, but got too busy.

DBI BA Jay Gong did a GoToMeeting with me and he was able to figure out the problem.

Jay is still working on the script problem for me.
