Changing Tokens Based on Tenants

Hello Dundas!

I have read through the documentation for tenant overrides, managing and creating custom tokens here:

https://www.dundas.com/support/learning/documentation/administration/using-the-token-designer
https://www.dundas.com/support/learning/documentation/create-view-content/filters/creating-custom-tokens
https://www.dundas.com/support/learning/documentation/administration/using-tenant-data-connector-overrides

but I am still unable to answer my question, so maybe I am missing something. Here is what I am trying to do:

I am working towards a solution that will have many dashboards spread out across many tenants and these dashboards all have an available date filters/parameter. Some of these clients are in different years and the same dashboards need to display the tenants current year. For example, Tenant 1 has their data in 2016 and Tenant 2 has their data in 2018. If a user from tenant 1 logs on, I want their dashboards to default to 2016 while if a user from tenant 2 logs on, their dashboards should default to 2018.

I have setup date mapping on the datasource but I am not seeing a way to default from here. This is more for changing how a date dimension is interpreted.

I have also created custom tokens but I am not sure how to make the dashboards default to the specific token when switching from tenant to tenant. If it is in the documentation then I have missed it. If it is not in the documentation, what is the recommendation for a way to go about this?

Thank you Dundas Experts!

Hey Ryan,

I discussed the use case with our R&D team and was informed that Dundas BI does not have this feature yet, however it is implemented on version 7 where a user can add newly data tokens while doing a time dimension override on the tenant.

Also, I have opened up a Feature Request with the ticket# 81208 to keep a track of the use case.

Thanks Abhay. Appreciate the response and follow through.
