Cannot set rectangle to 'Relative' position kind

I have two ‘rectangle’ components side by side on the dashboard. Everything looks the same, but in one I can do Properties > Layout > Position Kind can be selected either ‘Absolute’ and ‘Relative’. And this is correct and what I expect. On anther one I can only have Position Kind to be ‘Absolute’. This option is selected and field is grayed out, so I can’t select ‘Relative’. This is wrong. Why is that?

Did you put the rectangle inside a template grid?

Yes I did, but so the other rectangle, which is working fine. I eventually just deleted the ‘bad’ rectangle and created a new one, and it was working as expected. But still curious why original didn’t work.
