calendar filter - year list

Hi,
I am using a simple calendar filter. When you click on the year drop list you see 2009 - 2029. Is there a way to configure this? I would like to:

  1. Prevent the user from selecting a future date
  2. Can we change the list to be 20 years look back from todays date? 1999 - 2019?

Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen,

What are you filtering, is it a time dimension or a date? If it’s a time dimension you can configure what range appears in the filter by changing the time dimension. Editing the corresponding time dimension you can set the date range, changing the “from” to be the current year and an offset of -20 for the “to” you can set the current year, see image below.

Hi Jennifer,

If you use a time hierarchy and define a range, the Calendar Range picker will automatically show only the range of the time hierarchy.

Here is a parameter using this hierarchy.

I believe this will give you what you are looking for.

Thank you very much.
On a very similar topic. Is there a way to format a Token date format? If I set my default parameter date to be todays date it sets the value to be ‘Sep 23,2019’ I would like to change this format.
Thanks,
Jen

You can format what appears inside by changing the formatting settings of the time dimension.

https://www.dundas.com/Support/learning/documentation/analyze-data/create-a-time-dimension

After formatting it, you can see how it will look like inside the preview tab.
