All check box parameter

Hi,
I have set the default value of a parameter filter (hierarchy) check box to ‘ALL’ however when the dashboard is run there are NO values ticked in the drop down list. I am expecting ALL to be ticked. This is confusing my client. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks,
Jen

Picture please.
Version?
What kind of data is it int, varchar, other?

double check that the filter is hooked up to the right and only to that hierarchy.

Hi Jen,

Thank you for posting your inquiry.

Could you let us know what version of Dundas BI you are running? You can find the version here.

I just wanted to confirm if the following image is what you are referring to in your inquiry.

If so, there may be a likely reason behind why you and your client are observing this behavior of the parameter filter (hierarchy). Assuming that what you are describing is a Value Filter, there is a difference between the ‘All token’ => All and the ‘All member’ => (All). If the ‘All token’ is ticked from the token menu (by default), the tick boxes in a Value Filter’s drop down menu will remain unticked on dashboard load.

This was intentionally designed in Dundas BI because it was determined that in 90% of use cases, the user of the dashboard will see all data unfiltered in the visualization, and then only have to click/tick which members of the drop down list to update for viewing afterward. This is as opposed to having all the member checkboxes ticked, then having the user untick all checkboxes, before rechecking only those desired members to be viewed.

Regards!
