Hello!

Goal: to set up visualization date range to capture rolling 5 months trend (by month), and current Month to date (through yesterday)…I have the from set up to current month offset -5. I want the “To” to be current month to date through yesterday.

What is the best way to set this up?

I have the following case: I have a time dimension on the x-axis and a PoP metric and I need to calculate the PoP for the same period of the current year, that is a “year to date”. The problem is if I filter the time dimension with the “year to date”, it takes all the previous years from the x-axis. Is there a way to do what I want?

calculate rolling sum of time periods

I would like create a calulated measure that is the sum of the current and prior three time periods. Currently, I create 3 separate period over period measures then create a formula that adds the 4 measures together into a single measure. This puts a heavy processing load on the visualization and slows down the rendering. My question, is there a better way of doing this?

Start by telling us what the use case is, we found that sometimes if we know that then there is a different solution than what you are ask if it is possible or how to do.

Thanks James…I am showing a bar visualization of data, call it volume data, where I want to see a dynamic trend of this volume for past closed periods (5 months), and a current MTD snapshot through yesterday. The volume is on an average daily basis which my cube measure calculates. Just figured it out. Set the “To” in Advanced to “End of Today” offset -1. I am just immersing myself in the Dundas world. Thanks for responding!
