I learned that one metric set = one query to the DB. That’s why I created my own metric set, and used it multiple times on my dashboard.
If I create an element and then slide data from my own metric set, a new MS will be created. If I now copy & paste this element, the same MS will be used, and for each element I can add/remove measures in the data analysis panel. I am effectively using the same MS with different columns.
If now I try it the other way round, meaning that I slide the existing metric set into my dashboard and configure it my way. It is great, my own MS is used. But then, if I copy and paste it, removing one measure from one element will remove it as well from the other elements. Is that the point?
It does not matter too much for labels, where I set explicitly the text. If more measures are avallable they do not show. For bars, one the other hand, I have too many bars displayed. Even marking one as hidden will hide it on all other elements.
Is there something I am missing? If what I see is normal, it would means that MS cannot really be reused in a the generic case.
Thanks,
